    P90 workout...

What's it like? I've heard of it a lot, but really don't know that much about it. What's the routines? What kind of diet? And what kind of results would I expect - I'm talking about being committed to it kind of results. I've gained probably 15-20 pounds since HS, I'm at about 168(probably 170 by now) and I'm around 5'7-8. I'm not obese, but it's really bothering me. Lazyness since highschool and bad eating habits, on top of that having Hypothyroidism, I just want to get back on track and lose around 20 pounds and more importantly keep it off. This seems to be a good program from what I've read, I'm willing to commit to it and need some help/advice from some of you who I think have done the program - I think so anyway.

Don't buy P90x because it's not worth the money you pay for it. Download it from a torrent website.
The diet is like EVERY single diet in the world. Healthy foods, healthy foods, healthy foods. You can eat whatever you in want, as long as your portions are huge.

The workout.... it's successful because it's a mix up every workout. It doesn't allow your muscles to get used to the same thing. That's why all successful workouts are successful. You can't do the same thing day in and day out.. the more you change up your routines, and do something your muscles aren't expecting, you start building.

Agreed its alot of money, but if it helps someone get in shape that they couldnt do before...its worth every penny. Tony Horton is good motivater, and some people need that diet plan laid out in front of them. But if you can get it from a torrent, and learn a good portion plan on your own, then agreed its the way to go. Im all for saving a buck.

disagree... how can a video help someone who couldn't before? It's called getting off your @$$ and doing something about it.
Videos and pills aren't the answer.

all p90x is, is a variation of push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and basic exercises. The Ab Ripper X really isn't any new finding, it's simple Ab exercises.

When losing weight and gaining muscle... being simple goes a long way...

    Re: P90 workout...

i lost 40 pounds on it and gained about 2-3 inches in my chest and arms, my legs took a beating though and my knees still havent fully recovered. its a good work out but its not something anyone that has ever REALLY worked out in their life doesnt know about. if you are someone who hasnt worked out much and need a guideline to go by then this is definitely for you. I would still be doing it if i hadnt lost my gallbladder in the process. will start up soon though minus the Plyo.
Cant we all just get along?

    Re: P90 workout...

I lost about 23 pounds on it and got in really good shape.
But as I've said and Rocky just pointed out, it's nothing new. It's just put on DVD and ability to do in your own home.

I may need to look into that myself.
